Dog Treks Home
A Siberian husky traveled 77 miles through Nevada’s high desert and mountain ranges to return home a week after getting lost.
Doug Dashiell last saw his dog, Moon, while at a rest stop near Railroad Valley, Nev. He had taken three dogs on a weekend trip. After searching for several hours, Dashiell returned home to Ely, Nev.
Eight days later, the owner received a call from the White Pine Veterinary Clinic saying that Moon had returned to Ely and was wandering around town. The two-year-old husky was no worse for wear.
